On Friday night, second-seeded Fairfield will square off against Marist in the second semifinal game of the MAAC Tournament as the teams hope to earn a berth in the championship game. The Stags made it through to the semifinal round after beating Iona 68-63 on Wednesday night to improve their overall record to 21-11. In the win, Jalen Leach led the team in scoring with 22 points, but Caleb Fields was right behind with 20 points. Leach also led the team on the boards with eight rebounds, while Fields was right behind him, yet again, with seven rebounds. The team finished the game shooting 43.1% from the field and 18.2% from beyond the arc; marks the Stags will need to improve upon if they plan to win a tournament championship.

The third-seeded Red Foxes earned a spot in the semifinals after beating sixth-seeded Niagara on Thursday night in a 65-59 victory. Jadin Collins finished the game with a team-leading 20 points while Javon Cooley and Jackson Price finished the game in double figures, as well, with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Josh Pascarelli pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and added six points to the scoreboard in the win.
When Marist and Fairfield last met just two weeks ago, Marist pulled off a narrow 58-55 win, so Friday night's game is bound to be a tight one with so much on the line.
